Going private, maybe

I've been thinking for awhile about changing this to a private blog. And now the time has come.

I have really enjoyed this blogging community. There were times in the past when I really needed to connect with other mothers as I built my own concept of who I am as a mom. It took awhile to grow into this person I am today.

I think my need for contact has been met. I find myself hungering for an anonymous or at least semi-private, journal-style outlet. It will still often be about June, but also just a place for me to put my private thoughts. I have not worked this out completely and may go offline altogether. But I can't quite commit to an absolute statement yet. All I know is, it is time to retract and be with my family, be connected with my immediate life, and to do that it is time to close this chapter.

Thank you all.

Please contact me or post in the comments if you would like to be on my private blogroll.

Cheers! Happy New Year!

Amy

  1. I'd really like to still see updates on Miss June. But I understand if I don't get invited to your private blog. (I'll just be sobbing away because I won't see more pics of June!)

Sometimes one just really need an outlet without feeling guilty.

    See you around... maybe!

  2. I completely understand. I've been kind of having the same feelings myself. Maybe it's just that I feel like I have to blog now and really much of the time I just don't feel like it anymore!

If you go private I'd love to be invited if you choose to invite people :) I've enjoyed getting to "know" you and June through your blog and would love to stay in contact.

My email is thelittlenest at gmail dot com

    Hugs, and Merry Christmas!

  5. Good Evening Amy-
I opened a google/blog a couple months back in order to use some websites. As you'll see, I'm not really set up & running yet.

I'd enjoy being a part of your private blogroll. I admit that in the past months I've missed your regular postings of life with Ms.June :) Of course I understand everybody can't have access, that defeats your need to be "private".

I wish your family a very Merry Christmas. Hope June likes her Teddy Bear magnet & the colors in the flyswatter are a close match to your kitchen.

  6. I would love to be part of your private blogroll - if you'll have me.
I've really enjoyed getting to 'know' you over these past whiles (has it been months, or years??? I lose track of time in general). I really like your writing style and of course your Junie photos.
I understand your need for a private outlet.

Have a lovely and fun Christmas, take care, Ellie xx

  8. I've definitely enjoyed and been inspired by your blog, Amy. IF you decide to invite people to keep reading your blog, I would love to. I definitely respect the need to do something that isn't for everyone else though. I hope whatever it turns into (or whatever you do offline instead) turns out to be really fulfilling for you.

  9. Girl, you know I go back and forth on this myself.

My problem with going private is that I could never go private enough. And if I were MORE honest--it is almost always about things that I wouldn't really want spelled out there in perpetuity.

(That is the right term, right?)

And I miss even the few visitors I get.

That being said.........the blog, the Facebook, the_____, they all wind up social niceities, and less honest than you want.

(Oh, friend me on Facebook, if you want....)

I always, always, always love comments. (Okay, except maybe not the nasty ones.)
