What it means to be a child

Here it is. My favorite photo of the bunch. You know, you don't have to agree, but this photo looks like childhood to me.

Sure, there is no play on grass. You can't even see her smiling. But here she is, the little light bubbles like magic, excitement, ready. The whole world waiting for this little person to go check it out. And right now, she is safe. And from that place of safety, she can explore with no anxiety.

That makes me happy.

  2. All your pictures are so sweet. She looks adorable. It's funny how a picture that doesn't even have her face can make you so happy.

I love the outlines around your photos. How do you do it?? Through a website or photo editing software?

  3. Yes, dear, and only because she knows you are right there behind her.

The minute she knows she's truly alone?

The picture looks ALL different, turned around.

She's a lucky girl, to have someone giving her roots AND wings.

  4. Christy, you hit the nail on the head. That is what I want to provide as a mom, for sure.

As for how I make the outlines around the photos, it is through uploading my photos to shutterfly and then adding edges or borders. I like this too because I can do a "save as" in shutterfly and the picture is automatically reduced in size, instead of me having to do that manually.

  5. This picture is so beautiful and I think your right about what it seems to capture. Did you know there is a photography contest going on right now at 5 minutes for Mom? I would think this could be a winner.

  10. What sweet pictures. They are like childhood. They are sweet and happy and sad all at once. I think they speak to the sadness in me at all of the independence Teagan has been radiating these days. It just breaks my heart, like that picture of June at the door, looking out, not back. I've missed reading your blog!

I always, always, always love comments. (Okay, except maybe not the nasty ones.)
